Depending on your business use case, you may need to segment out your outbound and SMS phone numbers so they are only used by certain sales teams within your organization.
Use Cases
You can give a single user permission to use a small pool of your outbound phone numbers for the purpose of prospecting. These isolated phone numbers can be configured with an inbound call flow that only routes back to the user.
Give a branch location access to a pool of your outbound phone numbers that service a specific geographic region. These isolated phone numbers can be configured with an inbound call flow that only routes back to users within the branch.
Give each of your branch dealerships their own SMS dedicated phone number and configure that phone number to allow inbound calls back to the dealership of your choice.
Configuration
Within the Manage Numbers screen, select the Gear icon on the right-hand side of the screen. This allows you to edit the phone number.
Towards the bottom of the pop-up, set the ownership of a phone number.
All: This is the default setting. This means all users within your organization are allowed to use this phone number for outbound dialing and SMS (if configured).
Branch Hierarchy: This displays the name of your branches configured within the User Hierarchy. Users are typically associated with branches within the system. Any phone number owned by a specific branch can only be used by team members added within the branch.
If Local Presences is enabled by the user, we will try to use a matching phone number owned by their branch. If no match can be found, we will try and find a phone number available for use by any user.
If Local Presence is disabled, we will pick a default phone number owned by the branch. If a default phone number isn't found, we will try and find a phone number that is used by anyone (those numbers owned by All). If no default phone number(s) are configured, we will just pick one that is configured for use.
Individual User: An individual user or group of users can be set as the owner of a phone number.
If Local Presences is enabled by the user, we will try to use a matching phone number owned by the user. If no match can be found, we will try and find a phone number available at the user's branch, and finally for use by any user.
If Local Presence is disabled, we will pick a default phone number owned by the user. If a default phone number isn't found, we will try and find a phone number that is used by the branch and then by anyone (those numbers owned by All). If no default phone number(s) are configured, we will just pick one that is configured for use.
