Overview
SalesExec allows administrators to purchase phone numbers through RingResponse for use with call routing, call tracking, SMS messaging, and inbound lead handling. These phone numbers can be local or toll-free and are directly tied to your RingResponse balance.
Before purchasing phone numbers, RingResponse billing must be configured and funded. Phone number availability, monthly costs, and usage fees depend on the number type and region selected. Once purchased, numbers can be assigned to campaigns, flows, or routing rules within SalesExec.
Key Functionality
Purchase local or toll-free phone numbers directly within SalesExec.
Search for available numbers by area code, state, or number pattern.
Assign purchased numbers to call flows, routing rules, or SMS functionality.
Manage monthly recurring charges associated with each phone number.
Use numbers for inbound calls, outbound caller ID, call tracking, and messaging.
After registering a card and adding funds for RingResponse billing, you can purchase phone numbers. To do so:
How to Use This Feature
Navigate to More > Settings > Phone Numbers.
Click the green Buy Numbers button to get started
In the Number Store, you can search for toll-free numbers or local numbers within the US and Canada. You can add numbers to your cart and checkout to purchase the numbers using the card you registered for RingResponse billing.
By default, when a phone number is purchased, it is initially disabled. To locate it among your phone numbers, you'll need to click on "Filter & Sort" and then in the pop-up window toggle the "Show Disabled" option to "Yes."
It will then show up on the phone number list.
You can find additional information on searching for numbers and purchasing numbers for multiple states here.
Best Practices
Ensure your RingResponse balance can cover both the initial purchase and the ongoing monthly charges before buying phone numbers.
Use local numbers for region-specific marketing campaigns to improve answer rates and caller trust.
Clearly document which campaigns or flows each phone number is assigned to for easier management and troubleshooting.
Periodically review unused phone numbers and release those no longer needed to avoid unnecessary recurring charges.
Troubleshooting
If you cannot purchase a phone number, verify that your RingResponse billing is active and that your balance is sufficient.
If no numbers appear during a search, adjust filters such as area code or number type to broaden availability.
If a purchased number does not receive calls, confirm it is correctly assigned to an active call flow or routing rule.
For SMS issues, ensure the phone number supports messaging and that SMS is enabled in its configuration.
