This article will outline how to select a lead and send an SMS template so you are able to test out the texting features within ClickPoint Lead Manager.
Note: To move forward with this guide, it is assumed you have already purchased a phone number and you have configured that phone number to send text messages.
First, you will need to make sure you have a lead added within ClickPoint Lead Manager that has a mobile phone number.
For the purposes of your test, it is best if you add your own mobile phone number.
Next, select the lead, and then select Text SMS > Compose in the top toolbar.
Note: If you want to test an action that is configured to send an SMS template, you should disposition your test lead with the action instead and skip to step 4 below.
The Message Center will open. Select the Plus (+) icon within the input field and select Insert Template. Select the SMS template. Your selected SMS template will preview allowing you the ability to verify the contents. If you are satisfied with the template, select Send.
You will notice a few things that happen.
The first message sent will be the OPT-IN template. To remain compliant, you must receive an opt-in from your leads in order to send text messages.
At the end of every message, we will always include the option for the lead to opt-out. This is for your safety to help you maintain TCPA compliance.
